Through Winright Connors, we recognize Dahl & Connors’ long-standing reputation of over 25 years, as well as each and every one of his 10,000 clients, a milestone that we know Dahl Connors exceeded last year.
We recognize their humbled beginnings located in the heart of Davie Village in the West End of Vancouver, with organizations like the West End Business Improvement Organization and LOUD Business Association, which no doubt played a huge part in creating the successful firm it is today. And we recognize their early activism in the fight for equality, and the impact of their involvement with the LGBTQ+ community.
With Vince, Dennis, and their team continuing to be involved with Winright Connors moving forward, we hope to provide not only the support that Vince an Dennis always wanted for his clients, but also the energy, knowledge and tenacity of a firm wanting to do right by all of their clients and the impact their firm continues to leave in the West End, the LGBTQ+ community, and Vancouver at large. And what better way to begin this journey than to recognize right at the start, the importance and imprint that Vince, Dennis, and their team left and will continue to leave on Vancouver. We are proud to be part of continuing their legacy through Winright Connors Law Corporation.

Wills
It is important to have an up-to-date Will to state what you want done with your assets when you die, and what other special arrangements you wish to pre-determine.
A Will is a complex legal document and should be professionally prepared, even if your wishes appear straightforward. Your Will can be challenged after you die, so it is particularly important to
consult an experienced lawyer if, for example, you are providing an uneven distribution amongst your spouse and children.
You will need to appoint an Executor, consider the impact of Probate fees and Taxes, and address joint assets amongst other issues.
Representation Agreements and Powers of Attorney
A Representation Agreement is a document that appoints the person who would make health care and personal care decisions on your behalf in the event that you become unable to communicate or
make such decisions for yourself. This document may incorporate a Living Will, and an Advance Directive may also be prepared in certain circumstances.
A Power of Attorney is a document that appoints the person you would like to sign on your behalf for
legal and financial matters if you are incapacitated or upon your instruction.
There are advantages and limitations associated with these documents that are best discussed with
a legal professional experienced in these matters.

Did you know?
The new Family Law Act came into force in British Columbia in March, 2013. It completely changed family law for all people in relationships, married and unmarried. For the first time in BC, it gave an automatic right for unmarried partners (after 2 years together) to share in the Property of their partner upon separation. It also made married and unmarried partners potentially liable for the debts of their partners. And it changed the law as to what property can be the subject of a claim by your partner, and how that interest would be calculated. But it also strengthened the ability to sign a properly drafted and enforceable Agreement to avoid the terms of the Family Law Act and to have an Agreement that represents how you actually choose to lead your lives.
If you are in a relationship, or entering into one, contact Dennis to understand how the new law affects your relationship and how best to protect your legal interests.
